Qualifications: MB BCh DRCOG MRCGP

I qualified at Queens University, Belfast in 1981. From the age of 11, I had always wanted to do General Practice and had planned to settle in Northern Ireland. However, after 2 years of working in Belfast hospitals, I was offered a trainee post in Cranleigh and have been there ever since, having taken over the late Bob Knight’s list in 1986.

I became a GP Trainer in 1990 and did a Diploma in Medical Education in 2000, at the University of Surrey. I am specifically interested in the patient-doctor relationship, as I believe that the most important skill a GP can have, next to being clinically competent, is the ability to listen and understand the patient and their individual illness.

I enjoy General Practice with its challenges and hope to continue as a partner for many years to come.

I am married to a local lad and enjoy looking after our bantam hens and trying to keep fit by cycling and walking.
